3 Ways I’ve Upped the ‘Magic Factor’ in My Life…

What is the Magic Factor?

It’s the fire in your belly.

It’s the drum beat of your heart, calling you to dance the dance of life.

It’s the passion you feel when you’re doing something you love to do.

It’s those moments of pure connection and joy that take your breath away.

The magic factor is close enough to touch and feel as soon as you open your eyes and your heart to the possibility of magic.

When you tune in to this incredible force, you will begin to see and feel it in everything you do, from the mundane tasks to the exciting.

In recent months, I’ve learned a hell of a lot about myself and about life. I’ve grown on so many levels (and yes, my belly has grown too!)

Reflecting on my journey, I decided I really wanted to share some of the ways I have found magic (and it has found me).

3 Ways I’ve Upped the Magic Factor in My Life…

A Touch of Boldness and Bravery.

In the last year I’ve learned how to get my brave-face on. For me that has meant breaking through some self-doubt and coming out of my shell more than ever before.

I’ve done this by making connections with beautiful bloggers and entrepreneurs, launching a new website / blog, putting myself out there to the world and mustering as much authenticity and courage as I could find.

It’s been such an exciting process. I can’t begin to tell you how rewarding it has been to follow a dream to fruition.

If you’ve been dreaming about starting a blog – do it! I can’t encourage you enough.

I’ve also been a non-conformist with my pregnancy and birthing preferences, breaking the mould, pushing the boundaries, questioning things. God it has felt so good to do this instead of blindly going along with the status quo.

I’ve had some beautiful pregnancy surprises and epiphanies too, particularly after an incredible weekend workshop with the amazing Diana Kirke at her Adelaide Hills Birthing from Within retreat.

I’ve had to take risks. I’ve had to invest in my dreams both financially and from a time /energy perspective (and then back myself 100%).

I’ve had lots of adventures and gigs including promo videos, photo shoots, teaching workshops, completing on-line courses for business development and other exciting things that are still evolving as I write this…

My hot advice on being bold and brave is don’t be afraid to go all-in and take a leap of faith!

Take a risk. Invest in yourself.

Sometimes it pays off, sometimes it doesn’t. At least you’ll be taking action and gaining momentum that will ultimately bring you one step closer to achieving your dreams.

Understanding There’s a Divine Timing and Order to Everything.

I am moving steadily along the pregnancy journey now. With each day that passes I feel a little closer to the momentous day when I will birth my baby.

It’s been a really magical 8 months of life, full of creative potential.

I knew baby was coming, well before the moment of conception. It was a conscious choice and we attracted this little being on a soul level. It was perfect. It was divine timing.

I think back to being a young girl and then a single woman and marvel at the different stages of life. There’s a time to be independent and single. A time to love and be loved. For some, a time for family. For others a time for travel, business and fulfilling careers.

The key to all of this is acceptance. Rather than resisting where you are in life (and wanting to be somewhere else) if you can learn to accept with every fibre of your being where you are right now, I can guarantee you will feel more at peace.

Instead of focusing on what you don’t have you’ll be able to focus instead on gratitude and what you do have. In this moment. Where all your power is. Where the magic lives.

I believe in a beautiful mix of going with the flow but also pushing the limits when required. This still allows space for motivation, ambition and consciously creating the future you desire.

In the words of Louise Hay, if you can surrender and trust that “everything is working out for your highest good”, so mote it be.

Believe that everything will happen when it needs to happen! All you need to do is buckle up and enjoy the ride.

Does This Serve Me? A Self-Audit.

One of the most powerful things you can do is perform an audit of your whole life.

It’s a simple task, but the ramifications are huge.

A self-audit involves analysing every aspect of your world, from the work you do, to the company you keep and the fuel you put in your body.

I find the best way to do this is by asking yourself the tough questions and then recording the real, raw answers you receive.

You can use a personal journal to do this, or a mind map if you’re more visual (you’ll need a large piece of paper and crayons / pastels / pencils for this exercise).

Some questions to ask yourself…

What are my dreams / goals? Am I moving towards them?

What fuel am I putting in my body? Is it nourishing me?

What am I putting in my mind? (This includes TV, news, books, material from the internet). Is it nourishing me?

What environment do I live in/ work in? Is it nourishing me?

What am I doing to make the world a better place? Is it nourishing me?

What company am I keeping? Is it nourishing me?

With this last one I find it also pays to assess how you are showing up to life.

What sort of company are you for others?

I read a great quote which I posted on igers which was “Be the type of person you want to meet”. I’d like to take this further and say – start seriously enjoying your own company and be the kind of person that other people want to be around! Magic and enthusiasm spread like wildfire.

Completing this audit is one of the best things you can do if you want to upgrade your life and embrace the magic in the moments. Find out what nourishes your body, mind and spirit and don’t settle for anything less!

Wishing you a soulful, vibrant day, full of magic.
