This weekend has been a big eye opener. Not only was it Valentine’s Day, but also my husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary! I had high moments of love and joy with him, but also moments of melchanoly as I thought about the suffering that some people endure on some of these commercialised holidays.
All I know is that I can only come from an authentic place, which at the moment for me is one of love, of commitment, of gratitude. It is my hope that in just getting on with living life and coming from a genuine heartspace, I can help inspire others to be their most real, raw, authentic selves! Let’s face it, life will always have its share of struggles and challenges, but I believe as long as you keep doing the work, you will continue to grow and evolve in love.
In the last few weeks I had been under a bit of stress, feeling the pressures of work and life. So I was damn excited to pamper myself a little this weekend. Also keeping in with the theme of the #februaryfeelgoodchallenge which I’m running on instagram I have been scheduling extra daily self-care so that I have time, energy and more importantly joy in my heart to share with others! It’s been very healing, taking time to just be and look after me.
What do you do to take care of yourself? What medicine heals your heart when the world gets on top of you?
This week I went to the beach to connect with nature…
Spent a beautiful night staying in the hills to celebrate our anniversary with this incredible bath tub and a great book to read!
So so exciting because we don’t have a bath at home!
Oh and this book is Thich Naht Hanh’s take on love and connection… and it is breathtaking.
And was given these stunning roses! (I know lucky lady right?)
Had a facial and a massage at Jurlique, incredible to feel so pampered!
And did some home cooking – made a beautiful gluten free / dairy free apple and rhubarb crumble!
My heart is just so full tonight I could burst! I am so happy to be alive. So high on life. So high on love. The interesting part is that having a break from work has made me feel so energised, to work on my book, to blog, to love all people whose path I cross more than ever before, to just get on with things!
What puts a spring back in your step? Are you overdue for a weekend away, or some healing down-time?
Is it time to schedule in self-care just for you? 🙂
Peace out and all my lovin’ to ya….
