Elizabeth Santos believes that it is essential to teach new physiotherapists about how to minimise risks and provide tools to take care of themselves. Here, she speaks to Skye Mitchell about her new book.

Curious about the pervasive burnout she saw in the profession, Elizabeth Santos, APAM, spent seven years reading literature on the subjects of injury, attrition and burnout in physiotherapy . She has written an academic style of book designed to be a supplementary text for final-year physiotherapists and new and recent graduates. Elizabeth is a physiotherapist and naturopath with 15 years’ experience across a range of clinical areas, and currently practises at Vital Core Physiotherapy in Adelaide….

lectures AND WORKSHOPS

Elizabeth has a Bachelor of Physiotherapy, a Bachelor of Naturopathy, and 20 years of experience working as a health professional with diverse experience with different client groups in that time. In the last ten years she has focused her niche and expertise in the areas of reproductive health, hormonal health, women’s health, pregnancy care and mother care.

Elizabeth has lectured to Naturopathic Students at Endeavour College of Natural Health, and has held Academic positions (sessional exam marking and workshop presentations) at the University of Adelaide in the Physiotherapy Department.

Elizabeth is available for lectures and workshops on the topics of self-care, burnout prevention, women’s health and hormones, breastfeeding and the microbiome, fertility and conception, pregnancy and postpartum.
