The 22nd of April marked exactly 9 months since our little boy was born, so we decided to celebrate by planting his placenta in a special ceremony. It was a beautiful way to acknowledge his birth and pay homage to the miracle of life. This day symbolised the end of a cycle – 9 months he was inside my womb and now 9 months of being out in the world. It felt really magical.
It’s been just over 8 months since I became a new mama. Over this time I’ve been randomly reflecting on the qualities that it takes to be a good parent. It’s such a big time of change and it definitely causes you to stop and evaluate how you show up in the world and cope with things!
Maybe you’ve heard people talk about Natural Parenting but are still unsure what it’s really all about? It’s become a bit of a buzz term – but what does it actually mean?
I feel so blessed to have been part of a beautiful, gentle and nurturing event for women called ‘The Australian Breastfeeding Project: Feed the Change’. This project is still ongoing around the country with all pics taken by the gorgeous and insanely talented Sarah from Sarah Anne Birth Photography. Baby Leonardo and I are featured standing on the far left here.
